The 2nd Annual Mother Earth Day on Chincoteague Island,Va was held in the Downtown Waterfront Park under sunny skies. The Saturday event is held on Mother's Day weekend.
Billed as "The weekend the Mother's collide", the event has continued to grow and brings locals and tourists visiting the Eastern Shore of Virginia together in a festival atmosphere to honor Mother Earth and our own Mothers.
Live music performed by The EarthBand using garbage cans, 50 gallon drums, pots and pans, hubcaps and lots of other 'junk' enchanted the audience. Quad Pod, a local rock group and High Tide also performed.
All sorts of educational booths were busy teaching kids and their parents the effects of pollution on our enviroment. The Marine Consortium and Nasa were active with hands on displays. Over Forty artists, a Farmers Market, Live Plants and the Spin Art Bicycle created a very busy, fun filled day for all that attended.
See you next year?
