Chincoteague Island Events  •  The Seafood Festival

Those who attended the 41st annual Seafood Festival in Chincoteague enjoyed all-you-can-eat seafood including Littleneck clams, clam fritters, oyster fritters, fried fish, and oysters on the half shell, corn bread, hushpuppies, French fried sweet potatoes, and much more! Jettstream provided live entertainment under the swaying pines on the beautiful waterfront setting of Tom’s Grove Campground. Sodas, water and all you can eat seafood were included in the ticket price. Beer and local wine was available for an additional cost.

With lively music, great food, and friendly folks to party with, the seafood festival is one of the top events on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. This well known and popular event is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, for 41 years the Sea Food Festival has taken place at Tom’s Grove in Chincoteague. “The Sea Food Festival is the second oldest food festival in Virginia…in May of 1969 the first Seafood Festival took place at Tom’s Grove Campground, the tickets were $5.00 and more than 1,000 people attended, last year at the 40th anniversary celebration more than 4,200 patrons enjoyed the festival” says Jeff Davis, President of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.
