James Dayton has been a lifelong amateur photographer. His work has matured as he pursued careers in agriculture, construction, and raptor research.
Raptor and other wildlife research projects throughout this hemisphere gave him the opportunity for close-up views and photographs of the birds and animals being studied. His photographs have appeared in several area newspapers and have been published in two books on raptors. His photographs are also featured in the peregrine falcon exhibit at the Bateman Visitor Center on Assateague Island.
He is the official photographer of the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance and resides in Chincoteague.
